In the fast-paced UAE construction industry, handover delays and quality disputes can quickly derail a project’s success. Managing "snags"—those minor defects or uncompleted works before final delivery—has historically been a chaotic process filled with lost paperwork, ambiguous emails, and finger-pointing.
At e-Snag, we believe snagging shouldn’t be a headache. We have designed a Streamlined, Efficient, and Accountable Snag Resolution Workflow that bridges the gap between field engineers and contractors, ensuring that every defect is "Set it Right."
Here is a step-by-step look at how our digital ecosystem transforms construction quality assurance from chaos to clarity.
The 4-Step e-Snag Resolution Workflow
Our workflow is built on a structured, cyclical process designed to ensure no defect is overlooked and every stakeholder knows exactly what to do next.
Step 1: Snag Capture
The process begins directly on-site.
- Mobile-First Data Entry: A site engineer identifies a defect and instantly captures it using the e-Snag Mobile App.
- Cloud-Powered Evidence: The engineer attaches photographic or video evidence directly to the item. This media is uploaded instantaneously to our secure cloud server, eliminating data loss and ensuring a single source of truth.
Step 2: Snag Assignment
Once captured, accountability is immediately established.
- Direct Handover: The defect is formally Assigned to the Contractor responsible for that specific scope of work.
- Instant Notifications: The contractor receives the exact details, location, and visual proof of the snag, completely eliminating any room for miscommunication.
Rework Phase
Action shifts to the contractor to execute the fix.
- Execution: The contractor performs the necessary rework on-site.
- Status Updates: Upon finishing, the contractor updates the snag's status within the system to Work Completed, signaling to the engineering team that the issue is ready for inspection.
Engineer Review
The final gate keeping step ensures standards are met. The engineer returns to the site to review the contractor's work. This leads to a critical fork in the workflow:
- NOT APPROVED (Snag Reassigned for Rework): If the rework fails to meet quality standards, the snag is immediately reassigned back to the contractor. Its status reverts to Snag Pending, sending it back into the Rework Phase.
- APPROVED (Snag Process Ends): If the work passes inspection, the engineer marks it as Snag Approved. The issue is officially closed, and the process ends.
Why the e-Snag Workflow is a Game-Changer
By shifting from manual spreadsheets to our automated workflow, construction teams unlock major competitive advantages:
- Transparent Process: Say goodbye to communication silos. With e-Snag, project managers, engineers, and contractors get complete visibility at every single stage of the resolution lifecycle.
- Real-Time Updates:Stay informed on-the-go. Real-time status tracking means you know exactly how many snags are pending, under review, or approved at any given moment.
- Improved Productivity: By automating assignments and standardizing reviews, e-Snag dramatically reduces administrative delays, helping you close snags faster and hit handover deadlines.
- Quality Assurance:Our rigorous loop of capture, review, and approval ensures ultimate quality and absolute accountability on your site.
